MAN OF THE MATCH

GORDON & MCPHAIL

Established as a grocery business in 1895 in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region, we originally curated all manner of groceries from around the world such as teas, coffees, wines and whisky. Their appreciation of the rich tapestry of flavours they encountered led the founders, James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail, to seek out and complement this varied stock with equally fine produce in the form of Speyside’s many and varied single malt Scotch whiskies.

BOARDROOM

GLEN MORAY DISTILLERY

Since 1897 Glen Moray has been distilling on the banks of the River Lossie in Elgin. Our classic Speyside characteristics and sweet, malty flavours are renowned the world over and our light spirit pairs wonderfully well with a huge variety of cask styles. In over 125 years we have perfected our craft.

Welcoming visitors since 2004 to see the production processes for themselves and discover a range of delights from our tasting bar, the Visitor Centre is a hub of local activity with it’s popular coffee shop as well.

Elgin City Football Club confirm the departure of Ryan Sargent to Fraserburgh FC, subject to SFA approval.

Ryan had informed the club that he wouldn’t be able to commit to another season in the SPFL due to the increasing time commitments involved in running his own business and as a result expressed a desire to return to the HFL and ultimately his home town club.

The club have respected Ryan’s wishes and reluctantly agreed to a deal with Fraserburgh FC.

Ryan said, I would like to thank all the supporters, staff, and everyone associated with the club for making me feel so welcome from the day I arrived.
This was not an easy decision to make. However, I have decided that, due to the amount of travel involved and wanting to focus on my work career and other aspects of my life, it is the right time for me to move on.
I have had an incredible two years at Elgin and cannot thank my teammates, coaches, and staff enough for making my time at the club so enjoyable.
I wish everyone at the club nothing but success for the future.

Our manager Stefan added, It is unfortunate that we say goodbye to Ryan but it is not something Ryan has done for football reasons, but for his life and business. We approached Ryan to sign a new contract as a first action of the new season, he told us this is something he would love to do, but could not commit to it due to the hours he has to sacrifice for his growing business. In light of this it is best for the club and Ryan to part ways, and wish each other all the very best for the future.
I have a great personal relationship with Ryan , he has ran his heart out for us and the club. Ultimately going into the season we need players that are fully committed to Elgin city and this allows us to reinvest into the squad, while providing Ryan and his family with a move that fits best for them. We wish Ryan well and look forward to welcoming another goal scorer in black and white to the club shortly.

Everyone at the club wishes Ryan all the very best for the future and thank him for his excellent service to our club.
