We are very pleased to announce that Elgin City FC Women and Moray Girls Football Club have agreed a Pathway between the 2 clubs. This has now been officially ratified by the SWF.

Chris Foot - Director - Elgin City FC.
"This is a huge step forward for both clubs. Firstly I must thank many people for getting us here, Mike Duncan (Amazing amount of work done by Mike) and all those on the committee at Moray Girls Football Club who have helped work tirelessly for the last 8 months in getting us all to this stage, to Kieran Carty and Mo Morrison for involving Moray Girls Football Club from the first day we first set up ECFCW, the Board at Elgin City Football Club for supporting this all the way, Lee Stewart ( Manager ECFCW) for encouraging girls from Moray Girls to come look and assist us where possible and Kirsty Fowler and Aileen Campbell at the SWF, for helping us and supporting both clubs with advice all the way through the process".
"We said from the start 3 years ago that we wanted not only to be a major force in Scottish Women's football in the North but a place where young women and girls in the area would want to come and play. Wear the famous Black and White and be part of something special rather than travel elsewhere to achieve their dreams and goals in football. Seeing and watching their new idols, Mel, Mia, Sarah, Darcy & now Eva (As well as every other player to ever wear the Black & White) setting amazing standards and doing so well can only encourage them more, to firstly want to start playing football with Moray Girls and then come into the ECFCW fold. The work done by the Committee and Coaches at Moray Girls has been fantastic, I have said many times they really are an amazing club and one we are proud to be associated with and that is shown by the way we have many players who have gone through the system there already. Also having the coaching staff working together from both clubs can only aid the progress of these young girls, and help the coaches themselves progress further in the game.
This season we have involved a player from Moray Girls at every home game as a mascot, seeing the look on their faces as they walk out with the Team says it all, the feedback from Mike, others at Moray Girls and parents has proved that both clubs are doing something right.
The work is just starting, but with all involved wanting to push forward with further projects. Being a community club and now with a Trust in place, I can only see this working well going forward. As a club, ECFCW are pushing the boundaries in the Women's game to new levels on and off the pitch, this will be another huge step forward and show the commitment by Elgin City Football Club to having a sustainable Women's set up for many years to come"

Mike Duncan - Moray Girls FC
“This agreement between Moray Girls FC and Elgin City FC is such an exciting development for local girls and women’s football.
“Although we put pen to paper this week, work has been ongoing since Elgin City Women was established to bring our clubs closer together. Today, this takes a huge leap forward.
“Quite rightly, the new player pathway between Moray Girls and Elgin City Women will grab the headlines. It will inspire our girls at all age-groups to be the best that they can be, knowing that if they put in the work and listen to their coaches, the pathway is there for them to one day pull on the black and white stripes and walk out on the Borough Briggs pitch.
“But there’s also more to the agreement. Moray Girls coaches will have the opportunity to transition into adult coaching with Elgin City Women, and players at Elgin City Women will have the opportunity to develop their own coaching skills by leading training drills and sessions at Moray Girls.
“We want our girls to be inspired by their local football heroes, to learn from them, and to one day join them on the pitch.
“This agreement is a foundation that will grow and develop over time, strengthening the bond between our clubs and increasing the sustainability of girls and women’s football here in Moray. It will play a big part in what will be an exciting future for both clubs.”

Lee Stewart - Manager - Elgin City FC Women.
"As the manager of Elgin City women, I am absolutely thrilled that an official pathway has been announced with Moray Girls, marking a monumental step forward for women’s football in our region. I have immense admiration for the hard work and dedication shown by all the coaches and volunteers at Moray; their commitment is truly helping produce the next generation of talent. We already see the impact of their efforts within our own squad, as several ex-Moray Girls players are currently with us, serving as fantastic examples of the fine work and high standards established there. This partnership is a significant milestone for the community, and I am incredibly hopeful that we will see many more talented players make the transition from Moray Girls to represent Elgin City in the future"
